Configuring collaborating sites

Each SharePoint site can collaborate with one or more Meridian Enterprise sites.

To configure the sites that the SharePoint site will collaborate with:

  1. On the computer where the import and export processors are installed, Start ConfigureGcfShares.exe from the SharePoint\Processors folder in the distribution package. The GCF Shares Configuration dialog box appears.
  2. Click the file browser button (…) and select the SharePoint.ini configuration file. The current collaborating sites appear in the Available Shares list. If sites configuration has not yet been completed, the SharePoint site will appear in this list but is not yet fully configured, which is completed in step 5 below.
  3. First, add a Meridian Enterprise site to which the SharePoint site will collaborate. Click Add IC-Meridian Share. The GCF Share dialog box appears.
  1. Type or select options using the descriptions in the Meridian Share column in the following table.

Share Name

Type the GCF share name as described in Configuring the SharePoint processors.

The site name specified as LocalShareName in SharePoint.ini.

SharePoint Site/Vault Name

The Meridian Enterprise vault name.

Empty by default.

Remote Access WS/Web Access Root URL

The URL of Meridian Enterprise Web Access.

Empty by default.

User name and Password

A valid account on the Meridian Enterprise server.

A valid SharePoint user account.

Transfer Component

Select HTTP or File Copy. FTP is not supported.

Empty by default.

Collaborating Service

Select GCF Web Service and type the URL of the web service you installed in Installing the GCF Web Service in URL.

Empty by default.
  1. Click OK to save the new site.
  1. Select the SharePoint site and click Edit. The GCF Share dialog box appears.
  1. Type or select options using the descriptions in the SharePoint Share column in the preceding table.
  1. Click OK to save your changes.
