Understanding work area support

The GCF supports collaborating between Meridian Enterprise work areas at different sites. This requires that the structure and names of the work areas are identical in all collaborating vaults. The system does not support collaboration between work areas and other repository types such as BlueCielo Project Portal folders.

This means that:

• The work area tree that is visible in the Go To Work Area dialog in the PowerUser, must be the same in all vaults.
• The options of the work area templates (workflow diagram, Work Isolation mode, Retain History option, and so on) must be the same in all vaults.
• The Work Isolation mode of the Main area must be the same in all vaults.

The GCF supports vault configurations in which the Main area is read-only. The GCF does not support replication between work areas that are in a read-only state, that is, a state in which the documents can only be modified in a subwork area.
