Understanding the HTTP protocol

The GCF can transfer documents with the HTTP or HTTPS protocols. Each transfer includes the following actions:

  1. The GCF transfer processor uploads the briefcase file to Meridian Enterprise Web Access at the destination site.
  2. Web Access at the destination site receives the uploaded briefcase.
  3. Web Access saves the briefcase to the location that is specified in the GCFLocation value of the following registry key that must be created manually:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cyco\\CurrentVersion\WebLink

Note    This...Web Access will use the value as the root of the destination path and concatenate the name of the Web Access web location to it. For example, if the value of the registry key is C:\BC Meridian\Data\GCF and the name of the Web Access web location of the destination vault is Projects, then the received briefcase will be saved in the folder C:\BC Meridian\Data\GCF\Projects.

  1. The received briefcase is imported by the Meridian Enterprise import processor.
