Transferring ownership

Transferring ownership of a document locks the copies of the document in all collaborating vaults except the one to which you are transferring ownership and unlocks the copy of the document at the selected site. It also updates the status information that is shown at all collaborating sites. Transferring ownership requires:

To transfer ownership of a document:

  1. In Meridian Enterprise PowerUser, select one document for which you want to transfer ownership.
  2. Click the Collaboration Status tab. The Collaboration Status property page appears.
  3. Click Transfer. The Transfer Ownership dialog box appears.

Or

  1. In Meridian Enterprise PowerUser, select multiple documents for which you want to transfer ownership.
  2. Right-click anywhere in the highlighted rows to show the selection shortcut menu.
  3. Click Transfer Ownership. The Transfer Ownership dialog box appears.
  4. Select or type options as described in the following table.

Option Description

Transfer ownership to the GCF vault

Select the Meridian Enterprise vault to which you want to transfer ownership.

E-mail

If you want to notify someone at the selected site that the document's ownership is being transferred to their vault, type their email address or click the ellipsis (...) button and select an address. To send the notification to multiple addresses, separate them with semicolons (;).

Text

Type the message body of the email to send to the address typed in E-mail.

  1. Click OK to close the dialog. The ownership will be transferred by the next GCF scheduled transfer and the email notification sent.
  2. Click OK to save your changes.
