Locking ownership

Locking ownership unlocks the copy of the document in the current vault, locks the copy at all other vaults, and prevents other sites from taking ownership of the document. It also updates the status information that is shown at all collaborating sites. Locking ownership requires:

• The current site must be enlisted for the selected document as described in Enlisting remote vaults for documents. 
• A copy of the document must already exist at the current site, made by one of the GCF scheduled transfers.
• The selected document must not be owned by any other collaborating site. If the document is already owned by another site, a user at that site must transfer ownership to your site as described in Transferring ownership.

To lock ownership of a document:

1. In Meridian Enterprise PowerUser, select the document for which you want to transfer ownership.
2. Click the Collaboration Status tab. The Collaboration Status property page appears.
3. Click Lock. The Lock Ownership dialog box appears and ownership will be locked by the next GCF scheduled transfer.
4. Click OK to close the dialog.
5. Click OK to save your changes.
