What’s new in Meridian Global Collaboration Framework 2008

The following features were added:

• Support for advanced document workflow: the Meridian Advanced Document Workflow Module was introduced in Meridian Enterprise version 2007. This release of the GCF fully supports this feature.
• Remote command queue: Several basic document management commands and calls to VBScript functions to be executed in a remote vault can now be queued for transport together with GCF briefcases.
• Replication of document names: Document names will now be replicated. With this functionality, renaming of a document in the owning vault will trigger a transfer of the new name to the other collaborating vaults.
• Support for FTP transfer: Transfer of briefcases through FTP is added as a standard protocol.
• Integration of HTTP transfer: Transfer of briefcases through HTTP is now an option and no longer requires the installation of additional components.
• Enlistment of documents in document type workflow: During the workflow, the workflow state will be synchronized by the GCF automatically.
• Optimization of the scheduled export process: The performance of the GCF export process is significantly enhanced, especially for individual documents and small assemblies.
• Support for a read-only Main area
• Showing a confirmation box when deleting a document in collaboration can now be controlled.
