Understanding work area support

The GCF supports a common set of work areas in all collaborating sites. This assumes that the structure and names of the work areas is the same in all collaborating vaults. This means that:

The work area tree that is visible in the Go To Work Area dialog in the PowerUser, must be the same in all vaults.
The options of the work area templates (workflow diagram, Work Isolation mode, Retain History option, and so on) must be the same in all vaults.
The Work Isolation mode of the Main area must be the same in all vaults.

The GCF supports configuration in which the Main area is read-only. The GCF does not support replication between work areas that are in a read-only state, that is, a state in which documents can only be changed in a subwork area.
