Introducing the Global Collaboration Framework

The Meridian Global Collaboration Framework (GCF) is a module that runs on top of BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise and allows you to transfer documents between different locations, allowing for concurrent engineering within multiple Meridian Enterprise environments. Simply put, you can send single documents or entire assembly structures from one site to another site, allowing multiple teams to work on the same projects. The GCF is designed to deal with document ownership and locking to ensure that only one person at a time can work on any single document.

The optional Meridian Global Collaboration Framework/SharePoint module allows Microsoft SharePoint Server sites to collaborate with BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise sites over the Meridian Global Collaboration Framework. In the remainder of this guide, references to GCF sites can be applied to SharePoint Server sites as well as to BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise sites. For information about installing and configuring the Meridian Global Collaboration Framework/SharePoint module, see the BlueCielo GCF/SharePoint Administrator's Guide.
