You are here: Preventing synchronization

NEW  Preventing synchronization

By default and under usual circumstances, documents are always synchronized after you have enlisted shares for them. However, in certain situations, you might want to prevent a document from being synchronized either temporarily or permanently. An example of when you might want to permanently disable synchronization is when project documents are released to the master area of a vault and further replication must be prevented even if the document can be updated there.

Even when synchronization is disabled for a document, it can still be in collaboration with other shares and its status shown.

To prevent synchronization of a document:

  1. In Meridian Enterprise PowerUser, select the document for which you want to prevent synchronization.
  2. Click the GCF Management tab. The GCF Management property page appears.
  3. Click the Edit button in the lower right corner of the window. The property page becomes editable.
  4. Select Disable synchronization. The document will be skipped by future GCF scheduled transfers until the option is disabled.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.
