Exporting a configuration
Exporting a configuration saves the configuration information for the repository to an XML file that is contained in a compressed archive file. You specify the location of the file when you export the configuration.
Exporting the configuration is useful for several reasons:
- As a record of the system's configuration at a point in time, such as before making major changes.
- As a backup of the configuration in case of disaster.
- To copy to another Meridian Explorer server for import.
To export the active configuration:
- In the Meridian Explorer Configurator, click Manage. The configuration command buttons appear in the right pane.
- In the General group, click Export Configuration. The File Download dialog box appears.
- Click Save. The Save As dialog box appears.
- Select the destination folder, modify the file name, if necessary, and click Save to close the dialog. The export file is created in the specified location and the Download Complete dialog box appears.
- Click Open to view the configuration files in the archive.
