Documenting a presentation schema

Documenting a presentation schema saves the configuration information for a selected repository to an XML file the same as exporting a presentation schema as described in "Exporting the presentation schema" except that documenting a presentation schema performs the following additional actions:

  1. Generates an XSL style sheet file to transform the XML data into HTML suitable for display in a web browser.
  2. Generates a CSS style sheet file to format the transformed XML data for display in a web browser.
  3. Opens the XML file in the default web browser, applying the XSL and CSS files.

Documenting a presentation schema is useful as an easily readable record of the system's configuration at a point in time, such as before making major changes. The documentation can also be useful for reviewing and comparing objects within a presentation schema or between different presentation schemas.

To document a presentation schema:

  1. In the BlueCielo Application Manager configuration tree, select Repositories\<Repository>\Presentation Schema. The repository’s presentation schema status appears in the right pane.
  2. Click Export in the toolbar of the right pane and select Export as HTML. The Browse For Folder dialog appears.
  3. Select the destination folder and click OK. The XML, XSL, and CSS files are created in the specified location and opened in the default web browser.
