Configuring the advanced settings

By default, the appearance and behavior of the Explorer client application are acceptable for most users but you can configure advanced options to further optimize their experience.

To configure the advanced settings:

  1. Open the file web.config in any text editor. By default, the file is located in the folder where the Explorer client application is installed.
  2. In the appSettings section of the file, modify the values of the settings described in the following table.

Setting Description

EnableAdvancedViewer

If set to True (default), causes Explorer to show documents with the AutoVue 3D Professional viewer if it is installed and the optional licenses are registered.

EnableDraftPrint

If set to True, the Draft Print command is available to users in the viewer pane if:

  • The property page is configured to show document content from Meridian Enterprise Web Access as described in Creating and editing detail page layouts
  • The document exists in the vault and is published as a Web Access location

If watermarking is configured in the source vault, it will also be printed on the output. The default is False. For information about configuring the appearance of watermarks, see the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Administrator's Guide.

EnableMeridianPrintEvents

If set to True (default) draft printing (if enabled by the EnableDraftPrint setting) will invoke the following VBScript events in the source vault:

DocGenericEvent_BeforePrint
DocGenericEvent_AfterPrint

This option must be set to True if the watermarking configured in the source vault (defined in DocGenericEvent_BeforePrint) should appear in the output. For information about configuring the appearance of watermarks, see the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Administrator's Guide.

HideProjectCopyAndRevisionStateColumn

Hides the column that shows document status icons. The default is False.

Note    If set to True, will disable display of the number of available rows in the current view.

MaxChildFolderCount

The maximum number of sub-folders in a navigation view. Increasing this number will show additional sub-folders but may degrade performance slightly.The default is 75.

MaxChildValueCount

The maximum number of property values shown for a navigation view level. The default is 200.

MaxPBNValueCount

The maximum number of values for a property shown in a property-based navigation view. If additional values exist, a combo box will be shown to filter the values. The default is 200.

OptimizeGridQueries

Leave set to True (default) unless directed by BlueCielo Technical Support.

UserHelpUrl
