Upgrading a repository

After you install a Meridian Explorer upgrade, if a repository or its views are not available, you might need to manually upgrade the repository before it is available in the client application. If you have not yet created repositories, proceed instead to create one as described in Creating a repository.

Before you begin

Confirm that a current verified backup of the repository database exists.

Note    To upgrade an existing repository to use the Microsoft SQL Server FILESTREAM option that was not enabled when the repository was created, contact BlueCielo Technical Support for an upgrade procedure.

To upgrade a repository:

  1. Confirm that a verified backup of the repository exists.
  2. Open the tool from the Start menu.
  3. Select the repository in the left pane. The repository's properties appears in the right pane.
  4. In the right pane, click Upgrade. The Upgrade Meridian Explorer Database wizard appears.
  5. Click Finish. The upgrade process begins and displays the results when complete.
  6. Open the Meridian Explorer Configurator as described in Opening Configurator. The repository's configuration data is upgraded. If any errors occur, you are prompted to correct it before the configuration is deployed.
  7. Redeploy the configuration as described in Deploying the current views.
