Configuring default user preferences

Explorer users can configure their preferences for the options described in the BlueCielo Meridian Explorer User's Guide. The default settings are configurable by a system administrator.

To configure the default user preferences:

  1. Open the file web.config in any text editor. By default, the file is located in the folder where the Explorer client application is installed.
  2. In the appSettings section of the file, modify the values of the settings described in the following table.

Setting Description

UseBCViewerForPDF

If set to True, forces Explorer to show Adobe PDF documents with the viewer instead of Adobe Reader, if installed.

DefaultGridPageSize

The number of rows shown in a single page of the results grid before the user must view the next page to see more rows.

DefaultLanguage

The default language in which the application will be shown. The languages that are supported are those for which a language resource file is present in the Resources sub-folder where the client application is installed. By default, this is C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ExplorerClient\Resources.

  1. Save your changes and close the file.
