Exporting the configuration

The configuration of a repository may be exported to a file. Exporting the configuration is useful for several purposes:

  • As a snapshot of the system's configuration at a point in time, such as before making major changes.
  • As a backup of the configuration in case of disaster.
  • To copy to another Meridian Enterprise Server computer for import.

The configuration is exported to several XML files that are contained in a compressed archive (.zip) file. The configuration contains the items listed in Importing a configuration.

To export the repository views, see Exporting views.

To export the current configuration:

  1. In Meridian Enterprise Server Administration Console, in the Repositories group, click the name of the repository that you want to export. The repository overview page appears.
  2. In the app bar, click EXPORT. The file Configuration_<RepositoryName>.zip is downloaded by your browser and you are prompted for what to do with it.
  3. Save or open the file.
