Importing publishing jobs
Importing publishing jobs creates new publishing jobs using the configuration information from jobs that were previously exported from Meridian Enterprise Server.
Importing publishing jobs can be useful for several reasons:
- To restore job configurations to a known point in time, such as before major changes were made.
- To rebuild publishing jobs after an accident.
- To duplicate the configuration of Meridian Enterprise Server jobs on another server.
Notes
- Importing a publishing job with the same name as an existing job will create a duplicate job and will not update or overwrite the existing job.
- If the publishing job specifies a source or destination system that does not exist, a warning will appear but the job will be imported anyway. You may then specify the missing systems.
To import a Meridian Enterprise Server job:
- In Meridian Enterprise Server Configurator, in the Data Exchange group, click Jobs. The All Jobs page appears and lists the existing publishing jobs. The jobs are grouped by the name of the computer (cluster node) to which they have been assigned.
- In the app bar, click IMPORT. The IMPORT JOBS dialog box appears.
- Click the folder icon
. The Choose File to Upload dialog box appears.
- Select a file on the local computer that you want to import and then click Open. The file location appears in Jobs.
- Click UPLOAD. The file uploads to the server and the IMPORT JOBS dialog box lists the jobs contained in the uploaded file.
- Select the jobs that you want to import and click Import. The import task is started in the background and you can continue working. When the import finishes, the new publishing jobs will appear in the job list.
