Linking and unlinking documents and tags

When the Asset Management Module extracts asset tag information, it searches the vault for matching tags. The tags that it finds might or might not be linked to the current document. They might be linked if the tag was created from the tag information as described in Creating tags from asset tags or they might be linked because another user performed the following procedure.

To link or unlink a document from tags that match asset tags:

  1. Select the document that contains the asset tags that you want to use. For information on finding documents, see the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise User’s Guide.
  2. Display the asset tags as described in Viewing asset tags.
  3. In PowerUser:
    1. Select the rows that contain matching tags that you want to link to or unlink from the current document.

Tip    In PowerUser you can easily select multiple rows:

      • Hold down the Ctrl key and click to select individual documents.
      • Select one row and then hold down the Shift key and click another row to select a range of rows.
      • Click and drag the pointer across rows.
    2. To link the selected tags:

Click Link. The tags are linked to the selected document. The checkbox in the Linked column is selected to indicate that a link (Meridian Enterprise reference) has been created between the tag and the current document. The Status value of the asset tag displays OK.

    3. To unlink the selected tags:

Click Unlink. The tags are unlinked from the selected document. The checkbox in the Linked column is cleared to indicate that the links (Meridian Enterprise references) have been removed between the tags and the current document. The Status value of the asset tags display Not linked.

In the Meridian Enterprise Web Client:

    1. Place or remove a tick from the check box in the left column.
    2. Click Apply. The tags are linked or unlinked accordingly.

Tip    Click the icons in the header row to add or remove ticks from all of the tags in the list.

  4. Click Close or Back. The list on the Tags page refreshes to show the resulting links.
